Revised Exempted Fireplaces and Authorised Fuels for Smoke Control Areas in Scotland

The list of classes of fireplace exempted from the provisions of the Clean Air Act 1993 which prohibit emissions of smoke in smoke control areas has been amended for Scotland.

Consultation on revised Environmental Permitting Regulation in England & Wales

Defra has issued a consultation on proposed changes to Environmental Permitting Regulations. The proposals relate to changes in certain administrative procedures and technical details relating to permits and exempt waste operations.

The consultation will end on 24th September 2010

Consultation on transposing the revised Waste Framework Directive in England & Wales

Defra has issued a consultation on the draft regulations that will bring the revised Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC) into law in England & Wales.  The revised directive aims to promote the prevention of waste, recycling and the better use of resource.

The consultation will end on 16th September

Consultation on new marine licensing system in England

The Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 sets out a framework for a new marine licensing system for regulating marine activities to provide protection of the environment, human health & users of the sea.

It is planned that the new licensing system will be in place in Spring 2011 and the consultation regarding this will end on 13th October.

Wayne is off to the sea-side to do his own research then!
